Two people charged in connection with Barnsley murder

Two people have been charged in connection with the murder of Joy Billam from Garden Street, Goldthorpe, who died on Friday 30 September.
South Yorkshire Police say a 63-year-old man is due to appear at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court this morning, Tuesday 4 October, having been charged with her murder.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the offence of assisting offenders in connection with the murder of Joy Billam. He will also be appearing at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court today.
Forty-six-year-old Joy’s body was found in the boot of her purple Ford Fiesta Fusion, which was parked on Doncaster Road, near to the junction with the A635 at around midday on Saturday 1 October.
Post mortem results revealed that Joy had died from strangulation.
